NEW YORK, N.Y.
Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP recently announced that it has bolstered its Media, Technology, and Advertising practice with the addition of Ned Sherman as director of Manatt Digital. Sherman is the cofounder and CEO of Digital Media Wire, a digital publishing company.
“Ned brings a unique combination of business management and strategic advisory skills—as well as highly relevant legal experience—which are the same elements we brought together to make Manatt Digital a success,” says T. Hale Boggs, chair of Manatt’s Media, Technology, and Advertising practice and Manatt Digital. “He is extremely well-connected in the rapidly expanding digital ecosystem, which will be of immediate value to our clients. We are thrilled to have Ned join the team at Manatt.”
Sherman’s experience expands Manatt’s knowledge pool in areas such as digital video, music, and games; virtual and augmented reality; live streaming and OTT content; and rights management. Before founding his practice and Digital Media Wire, Sherman was an entertainment attorney at a major national law firm. He has also served as a member of The NAB Show Advisory Council, senior advisor to Siemer & Associates, and as legal counsel and artist manager to a global celebrity. He holds an A.B. from Brown University and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
“Manatt is an ideal platform for me, as these sectors evolve rapidly and are shaped by new technologies, consolidation, and globalization,” Sherman says. “And, in just a few short years, Manatt Digital has become a leader in the industry, known for having the expertise, experience, and relationships to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and provide strategic and operational guidance to companies across the digital spectrum.”
